Detroit Family Session | Thompson

Baby Sebastian is ONE! How is that possible? The years are flying by… I feel like I just shot his newborn session a few months ago (or his big brother’s, really) but instead we were celebrating his first birthday. I’m so happy I got the chance to photograph this beautiful family yet again. They make me SMILE! and can you believe how grown up big sister Alex and big brother Grayson are getting?! I love these gorgeous kiddos so much (and their awesome mommy and daddy too).

Happy Belated Birthday sweet boy!

Rust Belt Market Wedding | Kelley & Scott

Kelley and Scott are married!!

You guys. I don’t even know where to start with this awesome day… From the eco flowers, doggy pics and incorporating their love of Detroit sports, to their amazingly unique venue and customized ICE CREAM COOKIE CART, this photographer was in wedding heaven. Kelley and Scott wanted the day to reflect their love for one another, along with incorporating their awesome personalities, while ensuring that their guests had an amazing time celebrating with them.

I had so much fun this day. It’s why I love doing what I do. Thank you so much Kelley and Scott! I am so happy for you both and wish you all the best in your many years ahead! xo

Kelley and Scott wanted to do a first look before their ceremony, but they both wanted to see each other for the first time at the same time! So I got creative… with an umbrella. 🙂 Scott walked up to Kelley with an umbrella blocking his view. I placed them back to back, then… magic.

I was so happy they brought their fur baby Titus along for some quick family wedding day pics!

Kelley and Scott’s ceremony was held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Detroit. This was my first time shooting here and I was blown away. Not only is this old church absolutely stunning, but the priest and people that work here were so welcoming and lovely. I would LOVE to shoot here again! (hint, hint)

St. Mary’s Cultural Center Wedding | Kaitlyn & Nathan

Kaitlyn and Nathan are married! I photographed their beautiful wedding mid-August when the temperatures were warm and the sun was bright! Hmmmmm the weather is about the same now in early October… I think Michigan may be confuse 😉

I met Kaitlyn last year after she was referred to me by several of the NICU nurses at Henry Ford Hospital that she works with. I shot Jordan and Jillian’s wedding previously and was SO excited at the chance to now shoot Kaitlyn’s!

It was such a wonderful day. We traveled from Dearborn, to Detroit, then to Livonia getting shots along the way. Kaitlyn and Nathan are huge Red Wings fans, and even though the team played their final game at Joe Louis arena in the spring, we knew we’d have to get a few shots at a place that has brought these two so much joy. We then headed to Madonna’s gorgeous campus in Livonia before ending our day at St. Mary’s.

Congratulations Kaitlyn & Nathan!! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!!

Ann Arbor City Club Wedding | Alyssa & Andrew

My August was FULL of gorgeous summer weddings and I am so excited to share them with you throughout the next couple of weeks!

Alyssa and Andrew’s wedding started off my August, and wow, I was NOT disappointed! They were married at the beautiful Ann Arbor City Club on a warm and sunny summer day. The rain rolled in just as their ceremony ended and rolled out just as fast. It really was such a perfect day filled with so much love (my favorite!), laughter, dancing, and DONUTS. You guys! These donuts. I am still dreaming about them… Please, please, please all future clients have donut bars.

Even with the amazing donuts, my favorite things I shot that day were the two first looks. First looks with both Alyssa’s dad and husband to be? Yessssssss! Give me alllllll the first looks.

Alyssa and Andrew, every time I think about you two I smile. Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph such a beautiful day in yours and your family’s lives. Congratulations!
