When I became a wedding photographer back in 2012, I never could have imagined ending up here. "Here" as in having couples-turned-lifelong-friends, shooting hundreds of weddings at the most beautiful venues in Metro Detroit, and fueling my passion for travel by adventuring from coast to coast. It's such a dream and privilege to serve couples like you on a daily basis!
Amanda and Mitchell’s wedding at Lovett Hall, part of The Henry Ford in Dearborn, was a day to remember. From their perfectly choreographed first dance to the breathtaking views of Greenfield Village and Lovett Hall’s iconic charm, every moment was filled with love, joy, and excitement. As a photographer, it was such a privilege to capture their beautiful day.
The day began at The Henry Hotel, where Amanda and her bridesmaids were busy getting ready in a suite full of excitement. Amanda’s gown—a stunning lace design—set the tone for the day, combining timeless beauty with modern flair. Meanwhile, Mitchell and his groomsmen looked dashing in their tailored suits, adding a touch of sophistication to the day.
One of the most special moments of the day was Amanda and Mitchell’s first look inside the front foyer of the Henry Ford Museum. The setting was absolutely perfect, with the museum’s grand architecture creating a stunning backdrop. When Mitchell saw Amanda for the first time, the emotion on his face was priceless. It was such a beautiful moment to capture.
Right after their first look, we headed outside the Henry Ford Museum to capture all the bridal party portraits. The outdoor setting, with its rich history and stunning architecture, created a perfect backdrop for these photos. We shot group portraits of the entire bridal party, followed by individual shots of Amanda with her bridesmaids and Mitchell with his groomsmen. It was a special moment, especially since two of Amanda’s bridesmaids—Ashley (her new sister-in-law) and Katherine—are my previous brides, and Amanda had been a bridesmaid in their weddings! The love and friendship between these ladies made the portraits even more meaningful.
After the bridal party portraits, Amanda and Mitchell rented a Model T and took us on a fun ride through Greenfield Village for their bride and groom portraits. The village’s timeless charm provided the perfect backdrop for these romantic shots. Exploring the village together and capturing their love along the way was such a blast! The Model T added a fun vintage touch, making the photos even more unique and personal.
The ceremony took place in the Ginger Meyer Garden, just outside Lovett Hall. Surrounded by greenery and their loved ones, Amanda and Mitchell exchanged vows under the open sky. It was an intimate setting that added to the magic of the day, blending romance with nature in the most beautiful way.
Lovett Hall really wowed during the reception. The grand chandeliers, stunning wood floors, and natural light streaming in through the windows created an atmosphere that was both elegant and welcoming. Amanda and Mitchell’s attention to detail made the space feel luxurious yet warm, with floral arrangements and décor that reflected their personalities perfectly.
The highlight of the evening? Their first dance, of course! As ballroom dancers, Amanda and Mitchell’s choreographed routine was nothing short of spectacular. There were lifts, spins, and moments that had the crowd cheering. The dance floor stayed full all night with guests (many of them fellow dancers) showing off their best moves.
A huge thank you to the amazing vendors who helped bring Amanda and Mitchell’s dream day to life:
