Erin and Zack’s wedding day was perfectly encapsulated at The Garden Theater in Detroit. This venue, known for its eclectic charm and flexibility as a performance space, offered a beautiful blank canvas for their special day. The stunning hanging disco balls and disco-themed decor set a vibrant and joyful tone. I absolutely loved capturing the unique ambiance of this venue, which radiated with personality and energy!

Erin & Zack’s Detroit Wedding At The Garden Theater 

Erin and Zack, sweethearts whose love story blossomed over many years, brought an air of laid-back joy and warmth to their wedding day. Their journey started from a serendipitous Valentine’s Day shared shift as lifeguards over 10 years ago! Over the years, they have built careers in environmental services and software development while growing as a beautiful couple. They trusted me 100% with photographing their wedding and the vision that I had to create gorgeous images that represented their day. I LOVE that so much – there’s nothing better than my couples having the utmost trust and confidence in me as their photographer. 

As the cherry on top, their connection to Abby and Ian, dear friends and former clients, deepened the sense of community and friendship surrounding their day! I can’t even express HOW much I love when I get to work with friends of past couples – it seriously means the world to me. I shot Abby and Ian’s wedding in 2017 and have kept in touch with them ever since, so seeing them as the Matron of Honor + Best Man at Erin and Zack’s wedding was such a full circle moment for me! 

Their Detroit Wedding Timeline

As noon struck, the Garden Theater came alive with the buzz of anticipation for Erin and Zack’s special day! The couple and their bridal party were ensconced in their respective spaces, preparing for the day ahead, surrounded by the theater’s unique charm – have I mentioned this is one of my FAVORITE wedding venues in Detroit?!

First Look + Bridal Party Portraits

After the bride and groom were dressed and ready, the entrance in front of the theater became the stage for Erin and Zack’s first look. The raw emotion and excitement in their eyes as they saw each other for the first time was a moment of pure magic! These are the moments that I live to catch on camera. After the first look, the entourage made their way to the Detroit Public Library. The grandeur of the library’s architecture provided a STUNNING backdrop for the bridal party portraits, adding a touch of the city’s rich history to their wedding album!

Ceremony

Once the ceremony commenced, vows were exchanged, sealing their love surrounded by their absolute favorite people. This was followed by a lively cocktail hour, as guests mingled and the room underwent a stunning transformation for the reception.

Reception

The grand entrance kicked off the evening festivities! Heartfelt speeches and a delicious dinner set the tone for a night of celebration and love. Finally, the dance floor opened up, and the theater resonated with music, dance, and laughter. Erin, Zack, and their guests danced the night away, marking the end of a beautiful day and the beginning of a new journey together!
