Last month, I photographed Sarah and Chris as they exchanged vows at the beautiful and historic Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit. This wedding was extra special to me. I’ve known Chris since we went through school together as kids, and I’ve gotten to know Sarah very well over the past year and a half since booking their wedding. Sarah is an amazing hair and makeup artist, and I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with her several times. We even worked together on my very first wedding, and didn’t realize it until later on when we became friends. I am so happy for these two. They had an amazing day, and I was so blessed to be a part of it; not only as their photographer, but as a guest! And what a great wedding to be a guest at… their reception was an awesome party, filled with their closest family and friends, and lots of DANCING!
Congratulations Sarah & Chris!
I love having friends as clients… I went to High School with Chris and his two groomsmen on the left, and it was so wonderful getting to see and catch up with both of them!

Sarah presented both of her parents with beautifully embroidered handkerchiefs.
There are few things I love more at a ceremony than a string quartet!

Before dancing, Sarah and Chris played the “Shoe Game”. A newlywed game in which they had to answer questions about each other. Their answers did not disappoint, and ensued lots of laughter from everyone there!
Sarah’s father gave a beautiful speech about his daughter before their dance.
Sarah’s grandmother passed away, unexpectedly, a few months before her wedding. Sarah and her grandmother were extremely close and she wanted to honor her somehow within the day. During the reception, we snuck off to capture a few images of Sarah with a picture of her grandmother on her own wedding day. It was a beautiful idea, and a wonderful way to honor the woman that was so important in Sarah’s life.
Then it was time to party!
And party, we did!
Congratulations again Sarah and Chris! Thank you both for being such wonderful people that I am honored to call my friends. I wish you all of the joy and happiness that I know your long lives together will bring! xoxo
