Jellie and Ethan were married a few weekends ago during a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center.
I met the happy couple last summer over breakfast in downtown Detroit (my favorite) and after just a few minutes of getting to know one another, I just KNEW I had to photograph their wedding day. And what an amazing day it was! Jellie’s smile can light up a room, and the happiness that her, Ethan, and all of their loved ones felt that day was contagious. I was smiling from the moment I arrived to the moment I left, and I certainly wasn’t the only one.
Thank you SO much Jellie and Ethan for allowing me to share your day with you! I wish you both many years of continued love and laughter!
Jellie wore her mother’s veil and her grandmother’s head piece. Her garter had a police charm sewn on it in honor of Ethan’s service with the police force.
Jellie had personalized champaign glasses and beautiful matching robes for all of her bridesmaids.
Jellie and her father did a “First Look” before we left for the ceremony. I was so happy I was able to capture this for them.
I don’t think I will EVER get tired of fun matching groomsmen socks, especially American flags!
While the men had their portraits taken at the ceremony site, the ladies and I headed to Downtown Plymouth to take theirs. We were not disappointed! The weather was gorgeous that day, and I LOVE shooting in Plymouth.
Old window panes that double as ceremony signage makes my heart happy.
Mr. & Mrs. Eischer!
Loooooooooved this bridal party. So much joy for their friends; their smiles and laughter were plentiful!
While Jellie & Ethan’s guests were enjoying cocktail hour, I was able to steal them away to explore a few locations around the golf course for their portraits.
The decor & florals at the reception site were breathtaking. In lieu of a guest book, guests signed a wooden pallet painted with the American flag to symbolize Ethan’s service in the police force.
While guests enjoyed cocktails before and after dinner, they also enjoyed playing the several lawn games the bride and groom set up for them.
I don’t think there was one moment during the Mother and Son dance that these two weren’t singing to one another!
The dance floor is open!
Ethan is originally from Frankenmuth, MI and wanted to incorporate a German tradition from his hometown into the wedding day called Sie Leben Hoch. This is when the wedding guests wish the bride and groom a happy life by lifting them high in the air on chairs while chanting “Sie Leben Hoch!” (May they live well!) The tradition is ended with the bride and groom drinking in celebration.
What a fun wedding for an amazing couple. Congratulations Jellie and Ethan! I’ve enjoyed every second of our time together and was so honored to photograph your beautiful wedding day!!
