When I became a wedding photographer back in 2012, I never could have imagined ending up here. "Here" as in having couples-turned-lifelong-friends, shooting hundreds of weddings at the most beautiful venues in Metro Detroit, and fueling my passion for travel by adventuring from coast to coast. It's such a dream and privilege to serve couples like you on a daily basis!
Every once in a while, a wedding day unfolds so beautifully that you find yourself grinning behind the camera all day long. That’s exactly how I felt at Lauren and Grant’s Meadow Brook Hall wedding. From the rainy morning at the Royal Park Hotel to the golden hour portraits across Meadow Brook’s stunning grounds, their day felt like something out of a dream.
If you’re planning a Meadow Brook Hall wedding, trust me—this venue lives up to every bit of its reputation. It’s elegant, timeless, and filled with the kind of charm that makes you want to photograph every corner. This is one of my favorite places to shoot, and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
Lauren and Grant’s love story started on a cruise—and it didn’t stop when the ship docked. After two years of long distance, a pandemic move-in, and an engagement in Italy, their Meadow Brook Hall wedding was the perfect next chapter. From the start, I knew we’d be a great match. They’re laid-back, deeply in love, and surrounded by people who adore them. That energy shined through every moment of the day.
Lauren got ready at the Royal Park Hotel, surrounded by her mom and bridesmaids—and the vibe was full-on joyful. Her dress was absolutely stunning, and I loved the quiet moment of her mom zipping her in. Before heading out, we grabbed a few fun shots in the hotel library with the whole bridal party. It was such a sweet pause before all the excitement kicked off.
As we arrived at Meadow Brook Hall, the rain cleared just enough to give us soft, dreamy light—ideal for portraits. We captured all the bridal party and solo photos ahead of the ceremony, which gave everyone space to relax and enjoy the day. One of my favorite moments? Lauren’s first look with her brothers. It was emotional and so meaningful, and I loved documenting it as it unfolded naturally.
The ceremony took place outdoors, surrounded byMeadow Brook’s gorgeous gardens and timeless architecture. Lauren and Grant included a ring-warming with their parents, and the entire ceremony felt heartfelt and full of connection. Afterward, we wandered the grounds for a few more portraits of just the two of them. Even under overcast skies, the light was soft and romantic—and their happiness was written all over their faces.
The reception behind the historic hall was cozy, elegant, and so full of love. The toasts were equal parts funny and emotional, and every guest was tuned in. After dinner and cake, the Bluewater Kings Band kicked things off, and the dance floor never slowed down. The energy was electric, and Lauren and Grant soaked up every second of it.
This Meadow Brook Hall wedding was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and personal connection. Lauren and Grant’s families were warm and welcoming, their bridal party was full of love, and I felt so lucky to be part of it all. If you’re dreaming of your own Meadow Brook Hall wedding—I’d love to capture every beautiful detail.
